9 months of Violet Wren
Oh my goodness. How are we here! 9 months already and I'm just not ready. I can't believe it. You're almost 1. This isn't fair. I hate time. I hate it so much. I feel like the days are sometimes so long but the months fly by. You are 19lbs, 26 inches long and 60% in every way.
Christmas is done, and I have a whole blog post that I'm working on for later.
(so that means like July I'll finish it.)
- I'm sitting here in bed. You're next to me, asleep (finally) and have to be touching some part of my body or else you'll wake up. It's so frustrating sometimes, but I honestly love it and I know it won't be forever.
You've still got 0 teeth. NONE. Like, is this normal? Where are they? What's going on...Lillian was already cutting her two front ones around this time..
You've started here lately eating finger foods..like bits of toast, waffles are you favorite, Mac and cheese bits, and pretty much anything I can tear up and throw at you..
You still can't use a sippy cup or bottle..you chew on it, or hold it upside down and look at me like I'm insane. You also still nurse during the day every 2 hours. At night it depends..some nights it's constant, and some it's like every 3/4.
GUESS WHAT. You can crawl! One day, we were just sitting in the living room and I decided to move the coffee table and sit on the floor with you. As soon as I did that- BAM. You were crawling. And FAST TOO. It's like the coffee table was hindering you from moving. Weird. Anyway, you're so fast and you can find me in the hallway.. in the bathroom...in the kitchen...everywhere. Nothing is safe. Cords are your favorite..NOT COOL. and you put everything in your damn mouth. You choked on some Christmas tinsel the other day and it was freaking scary...so now I vacuum everyday and basically can't let you out of my sight. I guess at least thanks for waiting 9 months...it also doesn't help that Lilly got like 934503945904 littlest pet shop things and accessories that are perfect for you to choke on.
BLAH.
You officially say dada and daddy..which is complete bullshit since you're only attached to me. But I'm sure its because most babies say it. It's easier...I'm not holding it against you...yet...
You clap, say yay, say hi and wave..(that was last month too but I'm too lazy to see if I wrote that down. I forget a lot of things..)
You can totally pull up and have been for a while now. Still no interest in walking or using your walker..your sister loved it and was taking steps around this time...but I think you're totally happy crawling around. (you beat Lilly at crawling!) You're hair sticks up unless it's dirty and I need to wash it..your bangs come to a little point in the middle of your forehead and it's the cutest thing ever. You give kisses still and they are open and wet and the best kisses ever.
You let Lilly walk around and hold you, but get super mad and scream and hit her a lot when you want your space. I'm curious to see how that's all going to play out in the years to come.
You're still attached to me to where it's unreal and people can't really hold you. Especially if I'm in view. You're obsessed with animals just like your sister before you..and try to follow them. Lula now knows that you drop food at your highchair just for her and sits there patiently.
You've got the best eyes and the cutest smile. When I make you laugh extremely hard you snort...it's the best thing ever. I posted a video on fb of it..maybe if I ever find time I'll make you a video...sorry I stopped those. Mama has no time.
I love you so much Violet. You make my whole day hard, fun, sweet and just perfect. You've literally changed our lives and it's so fun and beautiful with you in it.Thanks for choosing us baby girl.
Here's Lillys 9 month in comparison!

This post literally has no point.
Oh my God. You guys, I'm typing this. TYPING. ON A COMPUTER. ON A MAC. ON OUR NEW MAC. It's beautiful. Its our Christmas present to each other..we haven't had a new computer since my Mac, which was when I graduated HIGH SCHOOL. 2007. It wasn't cutting it anymore so we've been without an actual working computer for a about two years now. This computer is beautiful. It's wonderful. I'm. going to blog so hard, so much. So get ready.
I can pour my guts out and type and type and type...stupid iPhone. This, this is what dreams are made of for a mom with no life.
Anyway, without that excitement, things are kinda shitty over here on our end. I'm ready for the break. We all need this break.
Violet has had back to back ear infections for about 2 months now. Antibiotics weren't doing the trick, so we had to go and get her antibiotic shots..two days in a row! It was awful, but so far she's better. Knocking on all the wood! I don't know how and why she's getting them, but they've caused my "never sleeping through the night to begin with baby to wake up even more through the night." She was doing well, only waking about 2/3 a night..but since about 6 months, it's literally every two hours. I'm exhausted. She's not sleeping well, and everyone is just miserable. I'm hoping we can go back to a few feeds a night instead of ALL NIGHT. I haven't slept a full 8 hours in almost a year. Do you know what that does to a person? A LOT. It makes you question your mental state and sanity.
Lillian has been having some issues with sitting still and focusing at school. Her teacher is awesome thank goodness, but its a hard road, and that's all I'm going to say about that. We're struggling, but we're making due and she's the sweetest little best, smartest baby ever on the planet. She is and will always be my WILD CHILD.
Hmmm, lets talk stay at home mom life. It's really taxing lately, you know, with no sleep..doctors, and just life in general. My baby doesn't let me set her down. She screams at me while I do the dishes, or mop the floor. OR anytime I'm just not holding her. We've been trying to break it-but she's not letting up at all. She won't nap unless I'm with her- which I've been trying to break, resulting in no naps resulting in everyone being miserable. It's funny, once you think you have one kid you think you have everything down. Then you have another kid and it sends you through a fucking loop. They're not alike a lot...but are in some ways. She still won't drink out of a bottle or a sippy cup. She still doesn't really like baby food- and only nibbles at certain things..so I'm still nourishing her completely..at almost 9 months old. Food before one is just for fun- right? -_-
Our water heater leaked and broke the other day. That was fun. Not.
I still need to wrap presents. I should probably shower at some point but never really have the time...and if I do, its with a baby pulling up at the bathtub and screaming at me. My eyebrows need work, my hair is constantly frizzy and pulled up in bun. Sometimes I wear make up if I get out, and it stays on my face for a few days after.
Speaking of pulling up- Violet has almost completely mastered that. And she can crawl! Only backwards though! She crawls backwards, crying and gets stuck and trapped against furniture and walls. She is seriously such an odd baby. Such a difficult baby. But she has the BEST smiles and laugh. She's the happiest baby- if you're playing with her. (which needs to be 24/7)
Hmmmm, what else? My stray cat I feed lives under our outside Christmas tree in a box with a blanket I made for her. She's adorable. But, when I have the front door open my fat ass cats inside try fighting with her through the glass door. SO.
Other than that- there isn't much else to say. I'm just really excited about my computer.
Also, this post was 99.9% me bitching, but I do love my life. And I am so grateful for it.

8 months some christmas pictures with lots of other pictures and all that jazz.
Oh my little baby. You've been with us earthside for 8 whole months! That looks like eternity but it feels so short. I hate time. I just hate it so much. You're getting so big, and I can see a lot of your baby-ness starting to fade..not much though. You still don't eat food a lot and only want me to carry you. So you're pretty much still a baby and i'm totally fine with that forever.
You're scooting around, and today you crawled like, one step before sitting back up. I know you can crawl. But you don't want to. You reach for what you want and then sit back up. Lazy. I'm also totally fine with this. I don't want to chase you around yet. I'm not ready.
You still have no teeth. Which is fine because I am terrified for my boobs. Like, scared. Anyway, you don't eat food and will have bites of mine. But this entire month you have literally CHOKED 4 times. And i'm not talking like, coughing. I'm talking like, you can't breathe and I have to toss you over and smack your back until you throw up. It's so uncool. And fucking terrifying. Twice has been on your medicine. Like, really? Once was on a tiny piece of paper you found on the floor on thanksgiving, and then your last one was yesterday on puree' baby food. Sweet potatoes. You threw up all over me. It's the weirdest thing. I seriously hate it. I'm ready for you to outgrow it.
I still can't ever put you down. Or do anything without holding you.
You cry for me in other peoples arms. It's the saddest thing. And I should totally break this habit now, but I just love her and it so much.
Lillian has always favored brandon unless she's sick or going through emotional things. I'm happy to have one that favors me, but it's exhausting. When Brandon would come home he'd get Lilly from me. When daddy gets home, hew holds you but you end up crying for me. I get no breaks from you kid. You still don't take a bottle either.
We took a few christmas photos the other day. None of them came out perfect but thats life. That's kids. Yall are cute. I love you guys.
Here's a family one. Cheese.
AND, lets just say you really want donuts and Lillian is your favorite thing to look and laugh at all the time. You're so cranky during the day, but as soon as we pick her up you're all smiles and trying to keep up with her.
You guys have my heart.
XOXO.

Kitchen make-over (sort of)
I'm bored and my baby is actually sleeping. NAPPING YOU GUYS. NAPPING. I got to clean my kitchen and light some candles. I then realized that I haven't posted any pictures of our kitchen make-over we did about a month ago. This is something that I recommend to no one ever. I will never paint again i've decided. It was awful. It was a two week process. It's actually still going. I'm still fixing things, moving things..
If you know me, you know I move around my things constantly. Because that's what you do when you stay home all day and look at the same things constantly. I hate change, but I love to rearrange things. My house is tiny. So tiny. But so warm. I love it. I grew up here. I've literally lived in this house for 20 years. TWENTY. We moved out when I was 15, and then we moved back in it when Lillian was 11 months old at the age of 22 for me. I love it. We've looked at houses, and I always just back out. I've worked so hard on my yard, my gardens. We've outgrown this house but I just can't bring myself to not live here. I know the time will come, sooner than later that Brandon will drag me out of here... but until then, I'm gunna keep living in my tiny childhood home and raise my babies here.
OK. Back to the kitchen. I should've taken before pictures. But, I thought about it and then never did it. Because, i forget everything these days so oh well.
I went back on my instagram (years back people) and found as many "kitchen" photos I could find. I had a good cry because Lillian was SO SMALL. OH MY GOD. MY BABY I MISS HER BEING THIS SMALL.
But here are the before photos.
Like I said, it's not done. New oven, new wall color. But for now I'm happy with it. I might also blog a couple of pictures of my favorite corners in my house. I used to do that a while back, and i love looking back on how things have changed. I want to remember them forever. Every little detail.

(I AM DEAD)
Ok, so that's depressing. But as you can see I moved shit around constantly then too. Oh well. Look closely and you'll see cherry stained cabinets. Dark, cozy but not my style. My mom actually stained them herself when I was about 10. So, of course I re-did them and went over all her hard work. ;) *love ya mom*
I am in love with everything white. WHITE WHITE. It's stupid honestly, but I have two messy kids, two cats, a dog and a chef for a husband who cooks amazingly but makes the biggest mess known to man when he cooks. BUT. It's what I wanted.
Let that sink in for a while. Painted WHITE over DARK CHERRY STAINED CABINETS. It took so many days and coats. SO many. We'd think we'd be finished and we'd see it leaking through. Again. There are probably still spots that aren't completely covered. But we were so sick of having a half done kitchen with paint everywhere, we gave up and said that's about as good as it's going to get. I'm into simplifying things. I've been purging my house of everything we don't need or use and donating it all to shelters. I'm done with the clutter. Our house is small and we need all the space we can get.
Anyway- here's the new to us kitchen. We still need a matching oven, but honestly who has time and money for that right now? I don't really care, this beige oven actually cooks the best out of any of my ovens i've ever had. We still need to paint the walls grey. But like I said, I HATE PAINT AND NEVER WANT TO DO IT AGAIN. (but will probably do it sometime in the next couple of months. BLAH.
Everyone always has cute last name things everywhere, and brandon totally made fun of me for my little letters. But, I seriously can't help the fact that our last name is SUGG. I can't. I tried.
My daddy got me this for my birthday, and now I get to proudly display my essential oils, and well, I need more.
( can you tell I love sink baths for my kids? It saves water and they look like little fat turkeys and i just love it so much.)
(i kept my clock, because I love it.. I also compromised with brandon and instead of all my vintage coffee mugs up on my little shelf, I let him put his one, whatever.)
(I painted my table this past week, WHITE, and i kinda already regret it because one my children and brandon touch it, it's filthy. I'm also trying really hard to keep fall on my table, but i'm dying to decorate for Christmas. So it's sorta in the mix right now. A little christmas with a little fall. Next week is all christmas baby and I'm ready. This is the longest I've ever waited to decorate. I'm proud of me.)
Stupid adventure time mug.
This is to show I don't have a yellow wall anymore. After 5 years, it's gone and I miss it. But this is much more calming, even though the yellow made me happy. Also, mine and Lillians cute little aprons are hidden behind brandon's transformers one. I tell you, it's so hard living with someone who has the complete opposite taste in decorating than you. I'm hoping he just gives up soon.
Kinda two shitty pictures, but proof that everything I have is slowly all white and bamboo. It makes my heart happy. And honestly, I'm just proud there isn't food stuck and crusted on my 80's beige oven.
And I mean, come on. I had to post a side by side of them. Lilly's clearly like 13 months here, and Violet is about 7. BUT COME ON.
