Two months of Violet Wren

Happy two month birthday baby goo! I'm extremely late with the blog post, well, because you're second kid. And having two kids is way harder than having one. I'm usually lucky if I shower. ;)

We took your 2 month pictures in your sisters old onsie. One that still holds true to BOTH OF YOU.
-_-
It wouldn't be you if you didn't puke during some of the pictures. So I captured them all and posted them.  I love the way you stretch! (last pic) You do that everytime after you nurse, and it's freaking cute. You've done it since birth, and its always followed by a cute or huge toot.

So, we co-sleep. It's something I didn't plan on, and it still kinda scares me but it's seriously the only way you stay asleep for longer than 10 minutes and we can all get some sleep. Brandon is still terrified to sleep in bed if you're in it- so he's pretty much been couch surfing since your birth. Once you get a bit bigger i'm sure it won't be a big deal and we will all be crammed in our tiny queen bed. (looking into a king bed is something on our ever growing to-do list.)

best video everrrrrrrr

(lilly made you a hat and it was adorable)

My sweet friend came by and took some of your photos. We never got your newborn ones done because they never came by in the hospital like they did with Lilly. (Apparently now you have to request it?) Anyway, we got a couple, but you aren't "new" newborn..but close enough.
You were wiggly, and fussed almost the whole time. (totally you) and well, they came out beautiful anyway. We love you so much.

There's a lot with you and your sister together, which are seriously my most cherished ones. I can't believe i have two babies still. Y'all are perfect and i'm so glad you came into our lives when you did!

You started smiling the day before your 6 week bday! We love getting those gummy smiles when you finally make eye contact with us or see someone you love. THEY ARE THE SWEETEST.
Since then we've been trying to make you laugh (you do in your sleep) but haven't had much luck yet. You're so close! You have been cooing some and it's so cute. You take such big deep breaths to get the tiniest squeak out. You work so hard. You flap your arms and legs like you really think you're going to go somewhere....SO. CUTE.

We spend most of our days (now that it's summer, yay!) sleeping in sometimes if Lilly does, and well, I pretty much carry you all day long. Seriously. You dont let me put you down, EVER. I swore I wouldn't let you get spoiled like Lillian did but apparently I can't ever let my babies cry. ;)

Likes:
my boobs
me
your sister (not touching you but talking to you from a distance)
your carseat
baths (you love love love baths)

Dislikes:
pretty much still everything else
all of your things we bought you (or were given)
*ex. mama-roo, bouncer, bassinet, rock'n'play*
laying down flat and having your diaper changed
(^this is a new thing just the past couple of days. you freak out thinking i left you naked for dead or something, so diaper changes are fast!)

You freaked me out a bit because you slowly became an every other day poo-er. Well, that turned into 9 freaking days. 9 DAYS WITHOUT POOP. Most bf babies i've seen usually poop a copule of times a day so this was frightening. Apparently, some babies use everything that eat and  can go up to 2 weeks without shitting! You've since your 9 day poo, pooped every other day again. I don't know if you needed all of that extra milk for growing, but it was weird. (its saving us on diapers though so whatever.)

We love you so so so much baby goo. bubba-goo. toot-toot. tootoo. wrenny roo roo.

****you also laughed ONCE sunday, may 29th. You haven't done it again. -_- ****

Violet Wren- your first two weeks home.

Here we are, and you're already two weeks old! Time has flown by (except those nights, those seem to drag on.)

You weigh 7.6 (from the 6.9 we left the hospital at that's amazingly chubby)

Ah, so I totally did not forget how hard the newborn phase was. Probably why I waited a good 5 years to do it again. They're not kidding when they say babies eat-sleep-poop-repeat.

You've gotten so good at breastfeeding! (Something your sister could never really do.) we used the shield for a good week and a half- and have been going two days strong without it! You're latch is good- but sometimes still hurts at first.
We've had issues with gas/reflux and are going on Tuesday for an x-ray to see if it's reflux. You're doesn't want to put you on anything since you've gained just fine...but I know that you're in pain. I see it and I can hear it come up. Hopefully things will go smoothly, i have to let you fast for 2+ hours...which you eat more frequent...so lets pray things go ok. (Lilly was on baby zantac too until about 3 months) If they can't really see the reflux i'll just have to start really eliminating dairy/garlic and everything that I love out of my diet until we figure this mess out. -__-

You fuss and cry after each feed bc of my hard letdown and over supply of milk (and reflux). It breaks my heart. I pumped for 5 minutes the other day and got 4 ounces. TOO MUCH. So, we've been trying to figure that out and sorta force you to take a pacifier since you have the hiccups constantly and feel the need to nurse 24/7.
Other than that- breastfeeding is going way better this time. (Especially after my milk came in and my boobs almost exploded but didn't and now they're good.)

Besides the little fuss and constant vomit you do- you're a pretty sweet, easy going baby. You tolerate your sisters loud screaming, her obsession with kissing you all over and you even nap at the same time as her (sometimes.)

We can't imagine life now without you. You love your mama and will turn your head to my voice from across the room. Lilly was so attached to Brandon, it's nice to have one be attached to me all the time. (Kinda, it's also exhausting but my arm muscles are getting strong.)

Sometimes you sleep 2.5 hours through the night and that saves my sanity. Sometimes you take a whole hour to put down.. Leaving me with an hour to drift off before you wake again.
My bags under my eyes have bags.

So far here are you likes and dislikes for your whole two weeks of life.

Likes:
Nursing
Mama
Car seat (opposite of your sister)
Boba wrap
Being held
Sleeping on your side or on our chest
The bouncer (occasionally, and it has to be on vibrate)
Bath time

Dislikes:
Being squeezed by your sister.
Pacifier (it's getting better)
Being held by anyone else besides me (sometimes!)
Diaper changes
Pooping (it scares you bc it's always explosive)
Putting clothes on
The mamaroo (you better really start liking that thing soon, kid!)

We love you so much! Even with all of the trials and me feeling like I'm completely new at this whole mothering thing again, (im up late googling EVERYTHING) i'm so glad you're here with us. You made us complete for now and I can't imagine now waking up to your little cry and kissing the top of that fuzzy head.

With Lillian I had a bad case of PPD , which terrified me of having you, but so far (knocking on all the wood) it's been smoother. I've had a few baby blues days where I just cry.. Mainly from lack of sleep and missing out on doing a lot with your sister.
(My hormones have me insanely upset about Lilly and how I feel like I'm not close enough with her, but from what I've heard that's to be expected.. Especially going from one kid for so long to two.)

I've also cried in the shower while squeezing milk out of my over giantly filled boobies. *apparently that's normal too, lol*

My c-section recovery at home has been so much easier this time too! (and the birth, which i'm still working on that one) I even slept on my stomach the other night! FIRST TIME IN MONTHS!

We love you so, so much our little Wrenny-roo, little turtle bebe, shmee-shmoo, Violet bee.
(we always have excessive amounts of nicknames for our babies) We're so happy you're in our lives. You make things better, and smell so good with your baby smell sweetness.
Xoxo,
Mama.

Hospital milk drunk.

So little and so fresh!

The best big sister, so happy to finally have you out!

The best little eyes. <3333 p="">
Easter photoshoot.

Sweetest little dreamer.

Violet Wren, realizing we're her family on day four of life.

In comparison to Lillian's big babies.

You occasionally find your thumb and it's the sweetest sound/thing ever.

Y'alls first nap together. We do this daily (or try to, sometimes you're wide awake.)

Sister singing to you while she swings and we watch her.

Hello little bee.

You're adorable fuss face.

Self explanatory. This is my life with you 24/7 little bee.

You're first gassy smile; captured.

Sister squeezes. You're face is priceless because you secretly hate it and she has no clue.

Baby "sprinkle" for little baby bee!

This weekend was my dreaded awkward baby shower. I really don't mean dreaded, I just get so overwhelmed with these types of things and over stress about them until they are DONE. Lilly also had croup, strep and RSV the entire week before and was still recovering from all three the day of. So, that's been fun.
With Lillian, I didn't get to pick much seeing as how I was on bedrest and had a total of 0 friends. I had a few come, but no one close. My moms friend threw it for me and most of the people there were in fact my moms friends. I'm grateful for it. But this pregnancy has been so much better with me being able to do things! Like, pick out stuff for my baby shower and pretty much plan it myself because I'm ocd like that.
Anyways, I really have to give it up to this lady right here. My BEST FRIEND i've had since forever, my mommy. She busted her butt getting her house in order, all with a hurt back. She made my dad into a painting slave- which they were doing their house anyways, but we made it all work just in time for my shower. I love my parents so much. They seriously do so much for my little family and me. I don't know where I would be without them. They're my favorite people.

My dad isn't pictured because the day of my shower, he decided to work on his cars outside and came in to eat, say hello to everyone and leave. Typical dad fashion too, wearing a star wars shirt and greasy hands from his car. -_-

We kept things simple. I go for simple, with little flowers throughout the house and little chalkboard signs with cute saying placed randomly. I'm not the type for pink (EVER) and girly things. All natural all the time guys.

This first little baby has my heart. She was so excited for the baby shower, and even got a cute floral "spinny" dress. She enjoyed playing with everyone and even got a few little gifts from some super sweet people that showed her love as well as my new little baby coming into this world.

My favorite corner of the shower. My favorite little organic burts bees my mom got me, and my God that little sign Lillian made for her little sister. HEART MELT.

Seriously, I put it above the babys bassinet in our room. I've got a find a way to preserve it so it doesn't wipe off ever.

SERIOUSLY.

My favorite people on this earth. This man right here decided for our baby "sprinkle" that little snacks weren't enough, so he got to play chef again and made amazing breads with balsamic garlic dips and two giant dishes of pastas AND a yummy salad. People enjoyed the food more than the company.

DELISH.

They will forever have my heart.
I am so ready for this baby! We got over 980 diapers (plus my cloth diapers I'm going to attempt) and tons of wipes. She's going to probably be the most stylish and adorably dressed baby on this earth too. SO MUCH STUFF. We had fun figuring out my boba wrap- I think we've got it down. Little diapers are in a cubby by our bed, and everything has been washed. We're just waiting on you, little bee.

I realize later reading this I said favorite like 40 times, but thats ok. Because everyone and everything in this is a favorite.
